Overall, a funny and low-stakes (feels weird saying that given all the death) murder-mystery that can be read in an afternoon while you ignore your responsibilities. Let’s face it, I’m sure we’ve all got a tale or two to tell when it comes to the perils of online dating. Perfectly light, and a page turner keeping you engaged, wanting to keep going to find out what happens next.

Chilton is a journalist with fifteen years' experience working on TV shows such as This Morning, Loose Women and The One Show, as well as writing columns for Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Metro and The Mirror. Full of twisty turns and red herrings, it kept me guessing every other chapter but I never suspected the killer! Don’t Swipe Right may be a murder mystery, but it was also a fun read ( you don’t often get to say that when a serial killer is involved).Swiped will likely resonate with anyone who has ever attempted online dating with less than ideal results. It got a good pace throughout, it's actually pretty fast going and jumps from one incident to the next so you never get bored. It's not deep and dark and going to take a week to get through, but it's absolutely perfect and such a breath of fresh air! I was laughing but also on the edge of my seat, these dates were so humorously horrid I couldn’t get enough. This book grabs you from the very funny start at the (groans, from hell) Hen Do from which Gwen retreats to the ladies and desperately swipes through dating app Connector as her best friend Sarah is now abandoning her to singledom.

She's certainly not perfect and she definitely uses humour as a shield to ward off feeling things, but she's funny and trying her best. She is refreshingly realistic, a character who feels like a genuine human being rather than a mere archetype. You'll come for the addictive murder mystery , and stay for the brilliant satire of modern dating at its worst. The entire situation is quite boring for Gwen, until the men she met on the app start getting murdered. Her journey through a host of murders in the milleu of Eastbournes dating scene is funny, fast paced and wildly unpredictable. Once you start reading, the book becomes impossible to put down, compelling you to devour it in a single day.
