PJOReilly Thanks for the honest review - what a shame. Why didn't they just upscale the resolution, update the controls and call it a day? If its exactly the same (with bugs) as the original no not for me then. If they fixed it with upgraded graphics then yeah. But still. If you want the classic GTA experience on Switch, it's now on the menu without any serious strings attached.

For what its worth, I LOVED Vice City.. Bought a PS2 just for this game but never had a memory card so just drove round aimlessly, always starting again at the beginning. Eventually traded PS2 in for a DVD player and about 7 second hand Gamecube games. Best decision. Still glad to be able to replay Vice City and also give the other two a go. Hope this rumour pans out. Thank you very much for reassessing this trilogy. I've been wondering lately if it was playable after all the patches. Will probably hold off still, as I only feel any nostalgia for Vice City. I wish I could buy it for 1/3 of the price tag, at discountReview Song Of Nunu: A League Of Legends Story - A Tightly-Paced Tune With Echoes Of Old-School Zelda After playing Vice City for about 10 hours I have experienced it crashing 3 times. One time I was in the middle of doing the ambulance mission, which probably takes an hour to complete and there is no way to save your progress. As much as I can tolerate slow framerate, this is inexcusable. They need to patch it! With that said, I've still been enjoying these games. Fortunately, I haven't encountered glitches during the many hours I've played so far but the framerate is atrocious. Only buy this if you know you'll like it. I'm loving it so far all things considered. scottishwildcat yes... but... those game are ugly even on PS2... now we are 3 generations beyond...

I mean, it's a disappointing port as ports go, but it's hardly unplayable. If you enjoyed playing it on PS2, the experience isn't really worse, just poor in different ways. KillerBOB what’s funny is I was think about posting the same thing. It sounds more like we expected them to actually make the originals better, but all I remember is how sad the frame rate was on my friends ps2 playing this, compared to anything I was playing on my pc at the time. They could have actually made these games better, but sounds like a direct port with only hd graphics. As I commented on the other article. Pop in is not a legitimate issue and would totally change the game. These old games have really small maps with vehicles that only spawn in really small areas. If vehicles popped in early it would make import/export almost impossible to complete as you would have to travel half way across the map to despawn cars you don't need. I get that it is an issue for some people but it's one thing I'm glad they didn't mess with and I guarantee that if they did change it, it would be included as an issue anyway when people post about how these missions are now impossible. That is one problem that no matter what they do there would have been complaints so I'm glad they just kept it like the original.PJOReilly I respect your review and see where it is coming from. I guess from the perspective of someone thinking GTA is a true great video game, your review makes total sense and I can see why there would be harsh criticism.

I hope that they'll also bring over the Stories games (originally released for PSP/PS2) at some point, perhaps bundled with a port of Chinatown Wars. I bought/played the iOS port of Liberty City Stories, and I thought it was great (and controls surprisingly well, though not ideal), and it was unique enough in its own right, which puzzles me as to why they aren't available on PC and other platforms. I would much rather play the Stories games on a dedicated handheld though. Ha! I was just getting the Homebrew ports on my PS Vita, I suppose I'll just wait for this instead. Zanzox the stories and animation are the same as they always were and if anything the controls are better. The graphics you can argue either way Anyway, I love this, but I can't help but want 3 and Vice City to also offer second campaigns by working in Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories. That to me would make it the true full GTA 3 experience especially when you think about how all 5 games are in the same style and were all on the PS2.So a typical problem with porting games to the Switch and its outdated hardware. Playing here on PS5 on performance mode and its the best playing and looking version of Vice City and I've played em all.

thaimbomb these aren't the PS2 games. They tried to upgrade everything for modern aesthetics, and didn't think to just port the PS2 version which would have worked marvelously. Instead we get a poorly optimized "upgrade". With Ninja Gaiden that's just my opinion (and I don't have great eyesight) but they looked fine to me, just not much of an upgrade (if any) from the originals. Still fun games though. I think Switchup were pretty positive overall and along with Nintendolife they are reviewers that I tend to trust and often agree with. Lazy cash grab and nothing more it seems. I wont even buy this trilogy elsewhere, I'm just not touching it period at this point! I've still never played these. I only remember playing 3 for like an hour or something and messing with cheats. though if it does only end up as a digital release then I'll probably either wait for that physical release that may end up happening anyway or wait for a price drop, either way.

Where To Buy

When I read the article title, I was half hoping GTA2 would be in there somehow... and for cheeeeap. Probably the majority of reviewers never played it and join into the hype. Still, this rating doesn't make me wanna get the game sadly. This is truthfully getting super embarrassing at this point. If I was in charge of these games I'd be super ashamed of myself, to be honest. What a mess.
