Description

We recommend this for both the aspiring beginner, or as the companion to the more experienced player on the move. Also available in polished white (RPB-D400PW), satin black (RPB-D400BK), satin white (RPB-D400WH), and rosewood (RPB-D400RW). For even greater flexibility on the move, use the portable KS-12 keyboard stand – or achieve an authentic piano look and rock-solid setup with the dedicated KSCFP-10 stand. The musical experience is also quite nice over on the FP-10, but we are hearing more tonal variety on the S1100.

Be aware that loudness of the resulting sound is not the best benchmark, that's what we have volume controls for. There’s a special 8-pin connector on the back of the FP-30 that will take the signal from all 3 pedals. Another example of polyphony consumption is when you’re playing along with a song playback (can also be your own recorded performance) or auto-accompaniment.By the way, I do not have FP-10 anymore- I considered FP-30X but got A-88 mkII MIDI controller and use Pianoteq sound emulation. Moreover, you can easily navigate the FP-10 using Roland’s Piano Partner 2 app (via an iPad for example).

Like this with Roland pianos you can use the mobile app (through BT) AND have the piano connected to your DAW on the PC or Mac (through USB Midi). Lastly, while the range of sounds is pretty close on both the FP-10 and S1100, the non-piano tones are slightly better on the FP10. Plus, with Bluetooth and MIDI connectivity, you can connect with a world of Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) and apps ranging from Apple GarageBand to Roland’s Piano Partner 2. The fact that the 88-note FP-10 has the same sound engine and feel as the FP-30 makes the FP-10 very attractive, but there are some potentially important drawbacks compared to the FP-30. The speaker trade-off is a better bass presence on the FP-10 despite less amplifier power, but slightly better clarity and overall detail on the S1100.For that reason, the PX-160 is often compared to more expensive keyboards such as the Roland FP-30 and Yamaha P-125.
